Due to the technical and financial difficulties in their regions, millions of people lose their eyesight because they cannot have surgery and they continue their lives dependent on others. That's why, as Hiranur Association, we have our brothers operated on and save them from darkness with the support of our benevolent donors.

Donate financially, and let's fight cataracts together with your donations. Let's be a light in the eyes of thousands of our brothers with a simple surgery.

Why is cataract so common in Africa?

Due to the hot weather, nutrition and climatic conditions in Africa, many people lose their eyesight as cataracts at a young age. When the inadequacy of ophthalmologists and treatment facilities are added to this, many patients, especially in rural areas, live in darkness without being able to undergo surgery.

1% of Africa, with a population of 1.05 billion, is stagnant. Half of the 10 million people in Africa suffer from cataracts. Only one out of every 2,000 people with cataracts in Africa can be treated. In some African countries, this figure is even lower.

18 million people in the world have cataracts and the majority of cataract patients live in developing countries.
