The Horn of Africa is battling its worst drought in 40 years, leading to severe water and pasture scarcity in Somalia that has affected millions of people. Many animals perished, as famine forced families to leave their homes and migrate elsewhere.
The rainy season, which lasts from April to June in Somalia, is vital for the greening of agricultural activities, water resources and grasslands. However, due to the five rainy seasons in a row, the drought problem began to make itself felt in the country. After these rain-free periods, half of the 16 million Somalis are in need of urgent help.
As Hiranur Association, we consider it our duty to stand by the people of Somalia during this difficult time. In order to improve the living conditions of millions of people in need of urgent help, we are planning to provide water and food aid with the contributions of you, our valuable supporters. We also aim to support families who have lost their animals and help them regain their livelihoods.
If you want to be with the Somali people and support them in this difficult time, you can make your donations through the Hiranur Association. Every donation you make will help improve the living conditions of our brothers in Somalia and help them get through this difficult period.
